In the third millennium, being aware of current knowledge and mastering and equipping with new technologies is a professional requirement for every therapist in order to minimize treatment complications and improve prognosis and move towards conservative dentistry.. Moving from the old method to the new methods has always been accompanied by many challenges.
Dental laser is no exception to this rule. From the first day in 2013, when I obtained the first official degree in this emerging field from the Iranian Association of Maxillofacial Surgeons, until today, in the middle of 2022, almost 10 years have passed, and the importance of energy, time, savings and effort I have devoted myself to study and acquire skills, research, study, teaching and treatment in this abandoned field. Unfortunately, this field has always been looked at with two extremes and some have expected miracles from it, and some have treated it like a forbidden object and alien science and avoided it.. The confusion in this field has advanced to the point that self-taught fellowships of 3-day and 9-day courses and 100-hour courses have polluted the holy lap of medicine, and patients and colleagues look at it with confusion and alas, It cannot be recognized from Nazareth.
The compilation of this book has been done in order to enlighten the thoughts of our dear colleagues, and it has been deliberately avoided to mention specific scientific terms, such as wavelengths, fibers, energy density, dosimetry, and… withheld. The purpose of writing this book was to familiarize colleagues with the daily uses of lasers in dentistry. Considering that the editing of the original book was prolonged, I decided to provide the interested people with my knowledge and experience of the last decade in this field by writing more concisely in the current book as the first volume..
