The Advanced Program for International Dentists in Cosmetic Dentistry is a full-time, one-year clinical and educational program offered to dentists from countries other than the United States.. who are looking to improve their skills and clinical knowledge in the field of cosmetic dentistry. The emphasis is on the clinical component with a focus on a wide range of modern aesthetic treatment methods.

Preference is given to applicants who have at least one year of clinical work experience. Applicants with less experience are still encouraged to apply.
Goals
Upon completion of the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Cosmetic Dentistry, participants will understand the intricacies of cosmetic dentistry and leave the program with the clinical competence to formulate and implement treatment plans for patients seeking cosmetic improvement.. Participants will be able to successfully complete digital and analog smile analysis and recommend and implement treatment plans that include porcelain laminates, direct and indirect composite restorations, cosmetic implant restorations, bleaching techniques, crowns and bridges.. and partial veneer porcelain restorations.

Participants treat a variety of patients under the close guidance of a diverse and experienced faculty of top physicians in the field of cosmetic dentistry and related disciplines..
Course components
Participant's knowledge and skills in cosmetic dentistry are developed through lectures, seminars, case presentations, research and clinical experiences.. A large part of the program is devoted to practical experiences in the clinic. Participants will address the aesthetic needs of patients in a holistic care setting. They will learn interpersonal skills to maximize their successful interactions with patients, peers, and other healthcare professionals.. Participants are expected to actively participate in research and submit abstracts to the annual NYU Dental Research Fellowship Exhibition..
